How do i participate in the competition?

  1. Enter the competition here by entering all required information, or log in if you already have an account.
  2. Download the proposal template and enter all required information. Share your solar power solution within Stockholm Royal Seaport by uploading your entry in the required format on the competition website by January 25, 2015.
  3. The winner of the competition will be contacted by the City of Stockholm by February 25, 2015.

I didn’t receive a confirmation e-mail after i registered for the competition. What should I do?

When is the deadline for the competition?

The deadline for submitting your proposal is January 25, 2015.

Who is eligible to participate in the competition?

The latest versions of Chrome, Firefox and Safari, as well as Internet Explorer 10, are recommended.

What happens if I don’t adhere to the competition’s rules?

Student Competitions reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not follow the stated rules. Read more about the rules here.

What can I win?

The winning entry will be awarded with 50 000 Swedish kronor as well as the possibility to see his or her idea integrated into the urban environment of Stockholm Royal Seaport. An additional 50 000 Swedish kronor may be distributed among 1-5 entries the jury deems of high quality.

What are the jury’s assessment criteria?

Can I participate in the competition as part of a team?

Yes, we welcome both individual as well as team entries. There is no limit to the amount of members in a team.

I am having issues uploading my entry. What might be the issue?

Make sure the document you send is in either .pdf or .jpg format and that it does not exceed the 2MB limit. Also make sure the document isn’t named using signs or letters not found in the English language (eg, å, ä, ä, ö).

What is solar energy?

Solar energy is the energy that comes from the sun’s light. Solar energy is used directly by humans in several different ways and techniques to provide heat and energy. Solar energy is considered a renewable energy source and is seen as very environmentally friendly, as it produces no emissions in the process of providing energy.

What is an urban environment?

“Urban environment” is a concept within urban planning for the external environment that characterizes the city or at least the inner city. Some characteristics of an urban environment are comprehensive street lightning, a mix of residential, commercial and public facilities, access to public transportation, and greenery, which may be limited to parks.
